How to make an insect collection? How to avoid bugs that look cool?

I'm making a collection, not only fault or insects, but of plants, rocks, shells, etc. It's for my future as a teacher class next fall. I'm trying to find a good way to keep butterflies, dragonflies, leaves, flowers, etc without them wilting over the years. I pressed some flowers – how do I keep them safe? I have some stones and shells …? Also, a small cactus. Any ideas on what to do with it? Above all, this is about how to keep my insect visible and clean and intact … Thank you very much!
